Perfect by James Logan
Liquid latex Put on him with great care and precision Soon to dry Turn your head to see he’s become a zombie Licking blood off his lips Skin peeling Look further on to see a kitten Purring and meowing at its reflection In the corner a joke Grinning menacingly Artists working their craft Noises darting and bouncing ‘cross the walls An endless search for perfectionism They won’t stop until it’s finished Perfect At the table Meditating with the scenes Preparing, snipping and cutting He is patient and concerned His work means everything to him He ventures on to film more More to prepare More to snip and cut More to perfect. |
What Face Paint is to Me by Angelina Tran
“I enjoy drama, and facepaint is an integral part of that,” says Ethan Miller. Visualize a room that is filled with creativity, imagination, and the ambition to be something else. In this room there are people transforming into magnificent creatures and characters. Everything is purposeful and carefully placed in just the right position creating something unique to the creator. Facepaint is more than putting color on one’s face. The method is what makes it unique to every individual. “Face paint in theatre is an expression of emotion and backstory that acting or dialogue can’t describe,” offers Carly Cairns. Facepaint allows people to document, write, paint, and accomplish whatever you set your mind to. Facepaint is an amazing opportunity for theatre, performance and art. |
